Leather with gilt lettering. Gilt edges - some gilt worn off. Leather is worn along spine, cover shows wear along all edges. One half spine hinge is loose, front endpapers have come away from spine. Also, front endpapers are bent along edges and have three 1/4"tears. No date given but presentation says, "To James - Christmas 1936. Volume contains, The Scarlet Letter, Twice-Told Tales, The House of the Seven Gables.
